Answer: To configure the surrogate association functionality in DQM, populate the SURR_ASSO_CAS_RN field for each surrogate and CAS_RN column for each target analyte associated with the surrogate in RT_DQM_CONTROL_LIMITS for each matrix_code. For the surrogate functionality to work, it requires that the dqm_qapp_code = “QAPP_SURR_ASSO_CAS_RN”. Additionally, the CAS_RN for the deuterated compound must be populated in RT_ANALYTE. See the Surrogate Recovery check help page.
Example: The early-eluting target compounds for acid-extractable compounds in method 8270 and the two surrogates that elute with them, phenol-d5/d6 and 2-fluorophenol.
Answer: Setting the param_value = N for param_code= secondSurrogate for the Surrogate Recovery check in RT_DQM_CHECK_PARAM in the DQM QAPP EDD will trigger the exception if only one surrogate fails and will apply the qualification rules to all target analytes for the associated analytical test method.
Use the surrogate association functionality to individually associate the specific list of target analytes to each of the surrogate compounds in RT_DQM_CONTROL_LIMITS.
